Spread the love

The age of bezel-less phones arrived when Xiaomi first released the Mi MIX last year. Following the MIX, the big players like LG, Samsung came up with other bezel-less phones as well. Essential tried its hands on a bezel-less design as well with its first release.

Today, Xiaomi released its brand new Mi MIX 2 and they teamed up with Philippe Starke this time as well. Philippe Stark and his team managed to surprise us this time as well by almost eliminating the bezels. Yes, the Mi MIX 2 is the closest a phone can get to a bezel-less design, however, its design is not its only strong game. The brand new phone by Xiaomi is a powerhouse containing the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with a 3,400 mAH battery. The display is sized at 5.99 inches with an 18:9 aspect ratio similar to the Samsung Note 8 and LG V30.

The display is bright and has an LCD panel with a resolution of 2160×1080. Xiaomi made sure that their latest flagship could work anywhere in the world, and hence, the MIX 2 comes with 6 modes and 43 bands. The MIX used a Cantilever Piezoelectric Ceramic Acoustic Technology in which the sound resonates through the metal frame and is delivered through the screen. The MIX 2 uses a sound guided speaker design which includes a 50mW high power speaker along with a sound guiding tube. Coming to the camera, the MIX 2 misses on the dual camera, however, it comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX386 sensor. It also has a 4-axis optical stabilization similar to the one on the Mi 6.

The phone is available in 3 variants which come with 6 GB of RAM along with 64, 128, and 256 GB storage options available. However, if you do plan to go big on this, there’s a special edition available as well which comes with a whopping 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The pricing of these three variants is 3299, 3599, and 3999 Yuan respectively. The special edition goes all the way to 4699 Yuan.

The good thing here is that Xiaomi is making the device available to other markets as well outside of China. So will you buy the device? Do let us know down in the comments section!
